Beach Party

After some thought, I have decided that having the beach party at my house is too much work.

As a result I think I'll have the beach party at the beach (novel concept, I know).

So, as a result, you are all invited to my 33 and a third birthday party on Saturday the 29th of December, at the beach.

The problem is that I don't know the beaches around Melbourne, so I don't know where it should be held. The only beach I've ever been to is the St Kilda Beach. Anyone got any suggestions?

I am very fond of Sandringham beach

If you park at the carpark across from Tennyson St looking out to sea, on the left there's a path and then a ramp leading down to the beach.

Williamstown Beach. It's a quick walk from the train station of the same name, and it's on the other side of the Williamstown peninsula from the Yarra's outflow.

I'm fond of surf beachs, but they are a long drive away. Which side of the city are you on?

In which case - Loki's suggestion of Williamstown beach is probably the best one.

St Kilda beach is small but it has an awesome pier with penguins at the end. =)

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
