Web you very muchly!

travisjhall has been pottering around the web pages he did for a couple of his games, making them look good for future cons. Because he's been talking about it a lot at home, it's prompted me to do some as well.

As a result I did a bit of work on three of my upcoming games. Unions and Intersections and Back in the Biz... are running at Arcanacon at the end of the month, and I've just submitted Ball of Dreams for Pheno in June.

People, have a look and let me know what you think.

Seattle needs to be spell-checked. I like the sound of that one, actually...

Random, do you know anyone I can pay to get the osCommerce stuff done? I've gotten a few quotes, but everyone seems too busy this time of year.

Thanks for that. Seattle has now been spell-checked.

However, I'm sorry that I don't know anyone who can do the osCommerce stuff. I'll ask around, but I doubt it.

You know, it occurs to me that the Ball of Dreams blurb would look really funky if you had a big image of a crystal ball in the foreground, with a transparent fade in the center, and the text showing in the hole. Given the art, I think I could do that...

But not until after Arc.

Did a quick search and found a few nice ones.

How about something like this though: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/object/4997199_into_the_future.php?id=4997199

The only problem with stockphoto is that you have to pay for them.

Well, yeah, I suppose we could do up a custom 404 error, but do you really think it'll sell your freeform?

Oh, wait, you've fixed it now, or something has. Yeah, that'd do the job. I think I'd use something with a more interesting background, rather than the plain white, but it would work. You could even make a static version by putting your main blurb text in the ball, title over the top, explanatory text on the velvet at the bottom, and the character list split into two columns, one on either side of the ball. For that, you'd have to do away with the title "Character List", and just list the characters without explanation, but I'm sure it would be obvious enough, and it'd certainly be interesting.

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
