Unicon Announcements

Firstly, the writer of Trans Am has been forced to withdraw the event.

Secondly, my freeform Lockdown is currently over-booked, and as a result I am thinking of opening a new session in Session G (last Session of the con, Sunday from 4:00pm till 6:30pm). Since AON is closed for rego, we aren't going to do anything about it yet, but if you want to play and couldn't due to prior commitments on the Saturday night let me know if Session G is good for you. If I get enough we'll open it up and I'll run then.

Thirdly, the timetable listed in AON is incorrect. The correct timetable is:

Saturday:
  • Session A: 10:00am to 12:30pm

  • Session B: 1:15pm to 3:45pm

  • Session C: 4:00pm to 6:30pm

  • Session D: 7:30pm to 10:00pm
Sunday:
  • Session E: 10:00am to 12:30pm

  • Session F: 1:15pm to 3:45pm

  • Session G: 4:00pm to 6:30pm
Fourthly, Daylight Savings begins on Sunday. So, even though the clock will say 10:00am for that first Session, the day actually starts at 9:00am according to the previous days clock. Be aware.

Fifthly, there was an error on the credits listed for Rigours. Rigours was written by Anderson, Hook and Anderson, and is being presented by Rob Shankly, Ian Thomas and Tim Betz. We apologise for the stuff-up.

Sixthly, the convention will be setting up at Melbourne High from about 7:30 Friday evening. Help would be appreciated.

Seventhly, the convention will have a small canteen providing hot drinks, cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches, and I believe a pizza order is planned for Saturday night.

Eighthly, come along, it will be fun! :)

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
