I had decided that I was going to buy myself Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring on DVD for my birthday. So after gym this evening, I drove down to the local K-mart (since they are advertising that they have the lowest priced copy of the DVD/Video, or they'll beat it by 10%) to get it.
I go in, and grab a copy (since they have a big display at the front of the store), and then wander over to the entertainment section to see what else is there (with no intention of buying anything else). I'm about half way there, and a really good song comes on over the stores sound system (Desert Rose by Sting, I love the song!).
Since the entertainment section tends to play their own music, I decide instead to wander around the store for a bit listening to the song, before going to the entertainment section once the song is finished.
While wandering (and listening) I notice a sign saying that if you spend over $150 on your Coles/Myer card, you don't have to pay anything off it for three months. Now I know that I've got about $400 available on my card, so I decide, why not!
So, instead of buy one DVD, I bought 12!
* Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
* Star Trek: First Contact
* The Crow (of course!)
* Starship Troopers Special Edition
* Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Special Collectors Edition
* The Abyss Special Edition
* Fight Club Special Edition
* Babylon 5: The Gathering/In the Beginning
* The Fifth Element
* The Matrix
* Top Gun
I could have quite easily bought more, but I decided to show some restraint.
