"Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand."
- Chinese Proverb
There are a number of issues with loosing a lot of weight that, when you stop to think about it, make a lot of sense and are quite logical results of the process.
However, until such a time as you have stopped and thought about it, they tend to be very surprising when they first hit you.
Case in point: I have lost about 17kg so far, and over 10cm at my waist. As a result, my underwear doesn't fit any more, and it's as annoying as hell!
When you stop and think about it, it makes sense. Losing a lot of weight with result in clothes that don't fit. The problem was that I hadn't actually considered the effect this would have on underwear.
I had noticed a while ago that my underwear wasn't fitting correctly, the pouch didn't seem to be holding everything it should, but I had thought that it had merely shrunk in the wash (which has happened before). It was only while I was in Melbourne that I realised the problem.
Underwear is designed to go around a certain size waist, and the pouch then pulls up towards the waist and holds certain parts of your anatomy.
The problem lies in that if the waist gets smaller, then the pouch will hang lower, resulting in the straps being in the wrong places, and things aren't being held.
The main problem I have is that I'm not sure what to do about it. I'm down a size (or there abouts) in underwear, so I could just go out and buy new underwear in the right size, however I am hoping to drop another size or so by the time I'm finished, so any clothes I buy now will only be temporary.
Oh dear. These are the type of problems I like having to deal with! :)
PS - Yes, I know, I talk about some of the strangest things. I am weird, deal with it! :)
