DVD Doings...

Of course I watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring soon after buying it.

I have one complaint. My TV isn't big enough! I've got a 68cm TV, so it's still a reasonable sized TV, but according to a few people I've talked to, everyone's been saying the same thing: no matter what size TV they've got, it ain't big enough.

However, Stephen (paradigmshifty) is an evil man. All through the movie, I had two phrases going through my head that kept on distracting me. They were "Still not King yet" and "pervy hobbit fancier". Bad man! If you have no idea what that means, go to The Secret Diaries of the Fellowship of the Ring.

On Sunday night I watched the special features on the second disk. Really good. Probably stuff that I'll watch again. Plus Orlando Bloom (Legolas) is cute with a mohawk! Also included sneak preview of what's in the Special Extended Edition coming out in November. There's an extra half an hour of movie for a start, though it's not half an hour in one place. There looks to be extra bits and pieces throughout the movie. Looks good. Plus sneak peak of movie two: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Looks really good!

An on a related note, no one seems to have added LotR:FotR to the DVD Profiler database. Might do that myself and submit it.

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
