Well, that was good news.
I just decided to have a look at prices for flights down to Melbourne for next years Arcanacon. My intention was to fly down the day before (Wednesday the 24th of January) and stay until the Wednesday afterwards (the 31st).
Flights have just been booked, for $91 each way! $182 total for down and back. Woot! I'm happy.

Which airline?
I very rarely fly Qantas anymore, not through any brand loyalty of anything, but simply because Virgin tends to be cheaper.
I find booking two or three months out from the travel times I can get some really good prices, especially if I'm traveling mid week.
Yay! I get to see "The Hair" again! :)

And perhaps you'll even get to meet my other half, leminkainen. I'm dragging her along to prove that all you awesome people exist, and that she wants to move to Melbourne to be closer to them like I do.
Cancon is a miniatures convention with a little bit of roleplaying, while Arcanacon is a roleplaying convention with a little bit of miniatures.
That way the two compliment each other, and people go to whichever one works best for them.
