My virus scanner has a message box waiting for me saying there are new bits available to update, and would I like to update now? I say yes, as I always try to stay current with virus patterns and the like.
Virus update occurs, and I get a blue screen. Bugger. Then I get another one, and another one, and another one...
You get the drift.
I manage to persuade it to do a reboot. It reboots nicely until it gets to the login screen, where it reboots itself.
On this reboot it complains that I didn't shut it down properly (who didn't shut it down properly?), however after that it reboots nicely until it gets to the login screen, where it reboots itself.

On this reboot...
Eventually I manage to reboot into Safe Mode, where I uninstall the virus scanner, and reboot normally.
Then I have to get online (without a virus scanner!) so I can download the virus scanner again for a reinstall. After a few drama's (like you can't use a 2002 product key on the 2003 product) the virus scanner is reinstalled, and I'm feeling better protected.
Ugh! Why does my computer hate me?
