Another reason to love DVD's

I sat down and watched The Mummy tonight, the only DVD that I actually own. I watched it through, it's a good move and I like it, and then I decided to have a look at the extra features on the disk.

It's the two disk special edition, but I've only looked at the first disk so far.

One of the special features on Disk 1 is an audio commentary by Brendan Fraser.

I like Brendan Fraser. He's a great actor, and he's cute too. He also has a great sense of humour, as shown by the audio commentary.

I select his audio commentary, and then play the movie again. Right from the start of the Universal Pictures Logo he's commenting.

I only watched a bit of it with his commentary, just up to when the cut to the Museum for the first time and we meet Eve, but the bits I watched were a combination of behind-the-scenes stuff, and humour.

Things like: "That's gotta hurt. Glad it's not me. Hang on, it is me, and that did hurt."

The only problem with now owning a DVD player? I gotta get me more DVD's!

One of the best things about that DVD is the audio commentary from the Director and Editor... they're old buddies from film school, get along famously and are incredibly funny throughout the entire commentary. Stick it on some time in the background and listen to it... particularly all the snipes they take at the extras who they hate "see this bit of CGI there... there was an extra there ... and we hated him... so we just put stuff over him yay!"

Re:
I just finished listening to the rest of Brendan Fraser's commentary. Enjoyed it greatly.

I'll have to watch through it again then, if the Director and Editor are that good.

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
